Our Commitment to Accessibility

Kennedy Mortgage is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually working to improve the user experience on our website (kennedymtg.com) and to apply the relevant accessibility standards across the content and functionality of the Site.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. WCAG defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Kennedy Mortgage strives to conform with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The Site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, meaning that some parts of the content may not yet fully conform to the standard.

Accessibility Measures

To support accessibility, the Kennedy Mortgage website incorporates the following practices:

  • Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy across all pages
  • Sufficient color contrast between text and background (4.5:1 minimum for body text, 3:1 minimum for large text and interactive elements)
  • Visible keyboard focus indicators on all interactive elements
  • Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images, with decorative images marked appropriately so they are skipped by screen readers
  • Form fields with associated visible labels rather than placeholder-only labels
  • Touch targets of at least 44 by 44 pixels on mobile devices
  • Respect for the prefers-reduced-motion browser setting, reducing or removing animations when requested
  • Meaningful link text that makes sense out of context
  • Skip-to-content link at the top of every page for screen reader and keyboard users

Compatibility with Browsers and Assistive Technology

The Site is designed to be compatible with the following browsers and assistive technology:

  • Recent versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge on desktop and mobile
  • Screen readers including JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), and TalkBack (Android)
  • Keyboard-only navigation without a pointing device
  • Browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality

The Site may not be fully compatible with browsers that are more than three major versions out of date, or with older versions of assistive technology software. For the best experience, we recommend keeping browsers and assistive technology current.

Limitations

Despite our efforts to make the Site accessible, some content or functionality may not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Known limitations include:

  • Third-party content embedded on the Site (such as external forms, regulatory tools, or partner widgets) may not meet the same accessibility standards as content we directly control
  • Documents linked from the Site that originate from government agencies or other third parties (such as PDFs from HUD, the CFPB, or regulatory bodies) may not be fully accessible; we provide these links as a resource and direct users to contact the originating agency for accessible alternatives
  • Newly published content may briefly contain accessibility issues that are addressed in subsequent reviews

If you encounter any accessibility barriers while using the Site, please contact us using the information below so we can address the issue.

Ongoing Improvement

Accessibility is treated as an ongoing commitment rather than a one-time project. The Site is reviewed periodically against current WCAG standards, and improvements are implemented as part of routine content updates and feature work. This statement will be updated as conformance status, supported technologies, or feedback mechanisms change.
